A Darkness That Shines Bright

You're in the dark,

a dark, dark room.

There's no end, nor the beginning, 

only a void

That shackled you in. 

But in the dark, you see yourself,

around you, the glitter dances.

You are alone 

Yet it feels, 

An attraction by its influence.

To see the shine is like a dream, 

always sends you into a trance.

But as it touches,

and sways your soul

The bliss sensate, even by glance.

It's strange to praise the dark, 

just as petting a demon.

But what if it's been years

And the dark shines once in a while?

Won't you call it, "my gleaming demon"?

Live, love and care

Cherish the life you have.

Learn from the fall, rise higher than before 

But aren't these the lessons

You'll learn as the dark path paves?

This is the world I have lived.

A dark room, with no hope.

But to me, that darkness shines

And takes me up into the air.

Will it be for you, bliss or mope?
