A Dark Night's Dream

Updated: Jul 14

By Sumiyyah Farhat Shiraj

Looked at the sky on a dark night

Saw the stars gleaming so bright

Turned away, couldn't hold my tears

That welled inside, revealing fears

Shaked my world when I looked inside

Everything is changing outside

Broke the forces that held me back

To grasp the light gleaming through the dark

Like waves crashing at sea

It all comes back to me

A thousand wonders to see

Finally a path to be free

Again on that dark night

Stars burning with light

Heard those whispers untold

Some secrets left to unfold

Telling me that I will

Have to wait for peace to refill

To remove doubts from my heart

And search deep down to find my part

Get rid of those sad thoughts

The fears I so long fought

One day I'll journey afar

To reach the brightest star
