A Cup of Tea

I asked for his company, " why not! Over a tapri waali chai", he replied,

What he wanted to say was, "A cheaper date", I murmured.

Went through a sleepless night that day,

Sailing with a vague feeling inside the deep meaning of his words.

Well, that journey exceeded the time,

Made art over my face normally called "Dark circles".

I was running out of hope, just like a painter with no idea but brushes in his hands,

I let myself be carried along with the stream of fate.

By pinching all the bubbles I was going through,

oh, " There he is!" shouted silently.

There was a crack on my rock face, which wanted to disappear for a while,

When he saw me playfully, I went on a closer inspection with him in my dreams.

Time became a curious commodity, I asked him with my fluttering heart,

"Can we talk over a cup of tea?".

And he just covered my sense of inevitability by nodding, "Yeah, why not",

Nothing was normal; the moonless sky slipped through the darkening shades of grey.

And his eyes were embracing me in the pool of happiness,

The hot plume of breath was escaping from our mouths.

Jumbled with some nonsense but endless talk,

And then he said, "Tapri wali chai is better over your cup of tea, right?".

I smiled like an idiot,

That was the moment I found myself with someone who appreciated the art on my face.

Yeah, that tapri waali chai can never be the same again,

The moment of no lies can never be reverted.
