A Bit Too Tight

Offered you my hand in hopes you'd reach out

fortunately for me, you did-- but your nails are digging in my skin.

Ouch.

It doesn't hurt--you're fine, thanks for letting me know

you're mine.

It stings from time to time, but I have you now, don't plan to

waste any time.

You lose and you've lost, I've been there too,

you can hold on to me, if that's fine with you?

You're suffocating me, my heart can't take all this- aw, you

got me flowers? what a pleasant gift.

It's the thought that counts right?

These flowers I’ve never seen, but I think I've made it known

lilies are the ones for me.

But thank you again, trust me it's true, my hands will accept

anything, as long as it's you.

Could you loosen your grip?

it's a bit too tight.

No, I know

you love me-

Of course we're doing it right,

you're doing just fine,

apologise.

…

Though it may seem like too much to ask, I’m a bit confused

you see,

is it that you love so aggressively, or have you come to

despise me?

It may be bold of me to assume, so I ask for the truth.

Because while your grip has kept me warm, you feel cold

to the touch--

Are you scared to let me go?

It's really just a hunch.

If you fear I may walk away, you can rid of such thoughts.

I don’t really have a choice, do I?

Not when you're all I’ve got.

Are you keeping me around, because I begged you to stay?

It's my own insecurities talking now.

I'm sorry, I’ll try to keep them at bay.

I’ve asked many questions, I’ve caused many fights,

but I have one last favour for tonight.

You can yell all you want, we can pretend nothing happened

once I’ve cleared my head-

But maybe,

you could let go of my hand?
