A Bit More

Updated: Feb 12

By Damien Basumatary

A bit more,

embrace me-

I feel so heavy and sore;

don't loosen your grip.

I've fallen in way too deep.

My sweetheart,

I don't want to depart-

I'll miss you the moment

I take one step apart.

As if I'm shot with darts,

the distance in between

pricks my heart.

I number the days

to seeing your face again,

gazing at the sunrise

and heavy rain.

As always,

I'm stuck with boredom

and solitude.

Plus your absense,

give me a bad mood.

I know this, I'm so rude,

and at times selfish;

don't push me away,

listen to what I have to say:

"A bit more,

hold me closer than before,

love me, love me to the core."
