Time

The mind engages in a philosophical quest

To understand the ethos of time the best.

With no origin or end, time is in a continuous race

Flowing across eras at its own indomitable pace.

Generations come and go; civilisations rise and fall

But in this continuum the dynamic time stands tall.

Human race progresses riding on logic and science

Varied events written over time shape history’s reliance.

This appreciation of the vastness and limitlessness of time

Evokes in the lay mind a humble reverence, quite sublime

About our finite existence to be almost a dot in this expanse,

Like a water drop in an ocean or a small pebble in a mountain.

So the personal urge to feel time with introspective breath

Makes us analyse the finite space between birth and death,

Where the realities of life experiences enlighten us

That change is the only constant, without any fuss,

That destiny and life situations inevitable rhyme

Changing our personality and outlook with time.

In reminiscing the past and present, the feeling is mixed

As I intriguingly wonder if time can be rewound or fixed.

Realising that many things in this life are pending

I ponder if I can finish those in the time remaining.

Thus the thought about next life arises in my mind

If I could redesign life again going through the grind.
