Rape
By Almas Arif
Rape—a horror beyond mere words,
The darkest act, where humanity blurs.
But do they see the filth on their hands,
Or do they simply believe they can?
How can they, in a world so free,
Commit such evil, and just let it be?
It’s a question to ask, but who will hear
Society, the system, or the nation's ear?
In the shadow of democracy’s light,
They still claim it’s a man’s right.
Blame her dress or her walk at night,
But ask—does that justify the Violence?
Okay, I agree—rapists are rapists,
Rapists are animals,
not all men, but always a man.
Yet where is the law to hold them accountable?
Where is the society to teach a man to be a human?
A nation where men walk free, unbound,
But women's voices are seldom found.
Where is her freedom? Where is her space?
Must she find a new world, or a different place?
For here, on this earth, they say she must wait,
For justice that’s slow, in a male-dominated state.
Then let us decide—to govern our fate,
A revolution we bring, for a woman’s true state.
