Music Artists like Nina Simone have been the centre of using her music to raise awareness of the injustice in the black community. One of her memorable songs, Mississippi Goddam (1964) was written as a protest against the murder of activist 'Medgar Evers' and 4 young black girls. The artwork ‘Nina’ is paying tribute to the iconic Nina Simone, who used her music for activism, in celebration of Black History Month.
