Lead Us Nocturnal Angel, LUNA!

Let your light cascade from thy crescent drain.

When troubles eddy and ebb, or wax and wane,

Life veers off course, and lo! Things fall apart

Inflicting pain and pangs, piercing the prickly heart -

Lo! We wail and cry, "No more we ain't sane".

While nothing seems right here and yonder,

Behold! You're here, dreamy as it can be

Purply clad, crescent-crowned, you govern by decree.

Thy good scythe and thy emblazoned sign hedge the wee,

But stalks him that lurks in the dark and sets the nemesis flee

Here, I gaze at thy shimmering self in wonder!

"Hark! Arise and shine! Carry the light,

For I’m the Wonder Woman at your disposal

I'm purposed to carry out the order celestial

Stationed to empower my folks toiling at night,

Far away from home to make ends meet;

To fend off the schemer that allures the hapless with a treat;

To shed some light on the wilful women who've gone astray -

Bloated with pride and prejudice, who against their peers, make a foray

Losing their sense and sensibility to discern

That warring within destroys the garden fern.

But to hold vibrant Venus is to stand as one body, one voice;

To cheer the sorority that purges social evils by choice.”

O! Night angel! Touch me with thy grace

By thy magnum opus secure my virtue lace

Set me ablaze with thy contour, O’ LUNA

My very knight at night, I pray, fill my lacuna.

"Sorority": The shift from personal struggle to a collective call for unity ("one body, one voice") is inspiring. 🙌

It elevates the poem from a simple prayer to the moon into a rallying cry for social change and mutual support among women😍👍
