Liar

By Lavanya Malik

In depths of darkness, where truth is

Concealed

A poem I write, with all your lies

Revealed.

Oh, my former best friend, how you turned with

Venemous delight,

A  traitor in disguise, hiding your

True sight.

Your envy and jealousy fueled your awful

Deeds,

A friendship that withered, consumed by Dark

Weeds.

For you, my former best friend, I sever the

Ties,

No longer bound by the chains of your

Lies.

The “A” in your name stands for the antagonist in

my story,

But I will always cherish the good times we had

In glory,

I stand here wounded, a heart torn

apart,

By the weight of your lies, an unending

Art.

Thank you so much, dear friend, though now a

Foe.

This poem stands testament to the hurt that you

Sow.

Though life has taken us on separate paths

Anew,

Know that my appreciation for you will always be

True.
