Hope!

When seasons change and rivers go from frost to free,
There is hope, that they will meet the mighty sea.
From the wake of dawn to the end of dusk,
We hope tomorrow has a better scope.
When clocks tick and trains halt,
When dawn breaks and day starts.
Hope peaks in and sprinkles like salt.
For men and women, clubs and carts.
When the phones ring and emails ding.
When the coffee is brewed but you are glued.
There is one thing that noone's lost.
It's the Hope in the minute and in the next hour.
It's the Hope to connect with near and far.
It's the intangible feeling, the abstract truth,
hope is the driver to age from youth.
When you take that leap, when you get ready for a test,
when you sign that contract, you only hope for the best.
In public, in protests, in voting, in togetherness.
Hope here is undivided.
Hope for a better nation, hope for humanity.
it's a unanimous magnanimity.
A new life and those first steps,
Those curious eyes to know what's next.
the next ones to follow our pattern.
To whom we can only hope to pass on the baton.
The baton of love, of caring and sharing.
Of eternal wisdom of inventions and of surviving.
If human species cease to exist
Or when the lands yet again have an ice blanket.
I hope there is a trace of us
as someone with a HOPE might be a guest of this unmanned planet.
