HAND

"I don't want to hold another hand,

As you are my eternal friend,"

Cried the lady to the husband.

Like mere grains of sand,

Years fell by despite many amends.

As husband found cold and dead,

Lady's heart started to shiver,

As her hand and its emptiness teased her trend.

Then came home her grand little friend,

Offered her palms forward,

As much as she could extend.

"You don't need to hold any other hand,"

The granddaughter said, tearing up the old and bent.
