Eyes

Every now and then, I remember her gaze.

They glimmered like stars under the moonlight.

Filled with curious innocence and mysterious air.

Every now and then, her eyes revealed her hidden craze.

Just a glance was enough to give one a breath-stopping fright,

Filled with unfathomable wisdom, and a tinge of despair.

Every now and then, my body trembled with ablaze.

As her all-knowing eyes bore into mine and my heart to ignite,

An uncontrollable desire and a longing for a future to share.

Every now and then, distant-looking eyes were covered by a haze.

Narrowing ever-so-slightly, her gaze gleamed warmly like the sunlight,

As her refreshing love blossomed and laid its beauty bare.

Every now and then, I wander in my mind’s maze,

Questioning whether her eyes were those of a maiden of an honest heart,

Or that of a woman who plays the devil’s part?
