Agni

O Agni, one cannot but worship thy divine flame

You are the nourisher of life, fire within and without

Death or life, on all aspects you occupy the mainframe

Orange spread, yellow or red that’s what you are all about.

O Agni, you bestow divine wealth upon all of us

So very gracious in accepting all our sacrifices within you

The witness, the umpire, the Reliever of all our stress

The carefree referee in all our disputes, all our review!

O Agni ,we are all aspirants, seekers of Truth who embody agni

We all have to arise like your immortal flames to reach the acme

In your presence we chant holy hymns to reach divine ecstasy

And dwell in a realm of fantasy that even our eyes cannot see.

O Agni, how graciously you withhold in your jatharagni* our food

For a certain time to facilitate digestion, our gradual bodily growth

Seemingly remaining dormant we hardly realise that you intrude

But that’s the way you always bless and that’s the Truth!.

O Agni, grant me the power to always invoke, place you to the fore

As a pious personification of my prayer or my wish to devolve

That I may evolve higher, that my spirits may rightly soar

Never, never to test but to feel the state of your resolve...
