You, without a mother's touch

You, with a father's shout

All that rage cramped into you

All those monsters you're a guardian to

Hate is so exhausting

Love's no remedy

And mourn for all the daughters of current sons

And November loves that brought themselves up

And the silver linings in their eyes

A broken heart cannot stay broken when you grind it to fine dust

And let it invade your lungs

You'll scream like your father

The dust won't move in your veins

Left behind the child you weren't

Were the bonds that you couldn't break and it'll just be you and this pen you think with

Maybe you've bled all out, or maybe it's the rust in your throat.
