She

By Aastha Gupta

She moved to the front, and they started hating her pride,

she opted for the back, and they said she was afraid to face the crowd.

She shared no ambitions, they said she was sad,

she started sharing her dreams, they judged her and told she was mad.

They questioned her objection and then ignored her suggestion,

they tried to prove her wrong and then were shocked to see her answer every question.

She tried to prove herself, but they let her down every time.

she thought of running away, so they said she was a coward.

This time, not for others, but for herself, to breathe and to live like she wanted to,

she decided to take a break and live the way she wanted to.

She went in the flowing rain to let her tears disappear,

that rain that hid all the fears.

She ran to the ocean to face the thunder in her heart,

the ocean that held her million emotions in its waves.

She sat in the forest between the trees,

the forest where the leaves danced and the birds whispered their louds.

She spread her hands in the air,

where no other would care.

She realized she was enough,

neither too much nor too less,

She was what she wanted to be,

she was the hidden gem in the crowd,

she was what she felt,

not too loud, not too silent,

she was her because she was proud.
