Love, steadfast in its resolve, refuses surrender,

However harshly it fragments the soul.

It is the poignant yearning for those radiant brown eyes,

And the smile that, once the source of anguish, now consoles.


In my chest, a fluttering as she appears,

Her presence soothing the ache of anticipation.

Yet, gladly would I endure the agony and tribulation,

For an eternity, if need be, to be graced by her presence.
