The words were left unspoken,

The eyes were averted.

The bond was left unbroken,

The place was deserted.

The place was my heart,

And the mind played it on loop.

The memories left a mark,

Of the military and it's coup.

The coup had overthrown,

The grasses overgrown.

Of the peace and sanctity,

Eventually leaving me alone.

I was left with me,

And me was bereft of I.

It was a battle fought that day,

From eye, To eye.
