They tell me to embrace change

But what if I resist?

To greet each dawn with a smile,

And bid farewell with the same smile,

Would I find strength in my resistance to change?

After all change has been my sternest teacher.

The cocoon’s transfiguration to a butterfly,

Popsicles melt into warm cocoa,

Love fades into the shadows,

Dreams take control

In this shapeshifting world

Why does change hesitate to welcome me?

I am still not used to waking up

Knowing you are not there anymore

Knowing it is because of me

Knowing you would be here if I wasn’t

Knowing that ill still love you

Knowing you won’t ever leave my heart

Knowing you are the only constant in my life which I want to change;

Or maybe not, as I said change has taught me everything

Even to fight within myself and from you

From your haunting memories to

Your selflessness, I know I would make it

Only if ill be 1% more like you

I still miss you and I am the only one

Who hasn’t forgotten you

I take an oath to be changed by you but never change you.
