78 Years of Evolution

By Kasheeka Gupta

A country, unlike any other

with richness of all cultures,

known to the whole world

called the Golden Bird.

Filled with talents

of every imaginable kind.

We live in some hearts

And reside in every mind.

The history of wars,

about the invasions and wrongs

but with culture so strong

India survived all along.

Once was a time,

we were importing even food.

Coming a long way,

Now we are exporters of goods.

Now we are much evolved,

Since the last 78 years

We are the CEO’s

Of the world’s biggest firms.

Our scientists at ISRO

Well-known for mission Mars

Respected for our IT soft wares,

making a global mark.

We finally became free

Fulfilling the dreams of martyr’s

Independence spree.

The constitution of India,

The end of the British raj

The final step to independence,

The Gantantra Divas of our Swaraj.
