21st Century Kafka in the Rabbit Hole

Like a wave, relentless, endless, I break,

A thought so narrow, no fate to take.

I float, submerged, in this quiet restraint,

An endless flaw I have to erase.

I seek no control; yet strain so great,

A burden to carry—either I make or break.

They say I fake, but do I truly flake?

An opportunity so rare, yet I hesitate.

I long for the same, yet still, I wait,

A dream deferred, trapped by fate.
