14 Years Of Expulsion

By Veera Jogi

As Lord Rama steps foot in Ayodhya, the mighty kingdom,

All the villagers celebrate his return with a warm welcome.

For he had been an obedient son,

To his rather cruel stepmom by whom he was shunned.

A well-loved man was he,

To his damnation, father did disagree.

By no means did he wish to disappoint mother,

So he decided to go to the forest with his wife and loyal brother.

Renouncing his duties as the king,

A peaceful life in the forest he continued living.

Patiently, he yearned,

The day when he finally returned.
