ಕೆಂಪು ದೀಪ

ಮೈ ಮರೆತ ಮದನಿಕೆಯ ಮನದುಂಬ ಬೆಳ್ಮುಗಿಲು

ಕನಸುಗಳ ಕಣ್ಣಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣುತಿದೆ ಸವಿ ಹೊನಲು

ಹೊಮ್ಮುತಿವೆ ರಾಗಗಳು ಹೃದಯ ಬಡಿತವೆ ತಾಳ

ಇಟ್ಟ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗೆ ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಗೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳ ಹಿಮ್ಮೇಳ ||

ಕಾಡಿಗೆಯ ಕಪ್ಪನ್ನು ತೀಡಿ ತಾ ಕಂಗಳಿಗೆ

ಹಚ್ಚಿದಳು ಕೆಂಪನ್ನು ಮಧು ತಂಬಿದ ತುಟಿಗೆ

ಹಚ್ಚ ಹಸುರಿನ ಸೀರೆ ಪಚ್ಚೆ ಹವಳದ ಹಾರ

ಬಿಗಿದ ಕುಪ್ಪಸವೇಕೋ ತಾಳದದು ಮುಂಭಾರ ||

ಬಂದವನ ಎದುರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟರವರು ಬೆಲೆಯ

ರಾಶಿ ಹೊನ್ನನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಕೊಂಡನವಳ ಹರೆಯ

ಓ ಹೆಣ್ಣೆ ಕೇಳೆಂದ ನೀನಿನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ

ನಿನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ಚೆಲುವಿನ್ನು ಮೀಸಲದು ನನಗಂತ ||

ಹೂವ ಹಾಸಿಗೆ ಮೇಲೆ ನಲುಗಿದಳು ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿ

ಕಾಮ ತೃಷೆಯದು ತಣಿಯೆ ಮುಗಿದು ಹೋಯಿತು ಮೈತ್ರಿ

ಬಾಡಿ ಹೋಗಿರೋ ಹೂವು ನೀನೀಗ ಅವನೆಂದ

ಹೀರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ ಮಧುವ ಇನ್ನು ಕಾಣೆನು ಅಂದ ||

ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದಳು ಅವಳು ಮೊದಲಿದ್ದ ಸೂರರಸಿ

ಮನದ ಕನಸುಗಳೆಲ್ಲ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದವು ಅಳಸಿ

ಅವಳೊಡಲು ತುಂಬಿತ್ತು ಹೊಸ ಜೀವವನು ಹೊತ್ತು

ಹಾಸಿದರೆ ಸೆರಗನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಸಿಗುವುದು ತುತ್ತು ||

ಅವಳ ಮಡಿಲನು ತುಂಬಿ ಜನಿಸಿತು ಕೂಸೊಂದು

ಹೆಣ್ಣೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯೆ ಮುದುಡಿತವಳ ಮನ ನಂದು

ಬೆಳೆದು ಅರಳಲಿ ಹೂವು ಬೀರಿ ಸೌಗಂಧವನು

ಬೆಲೆವೆಣ್ಣೆ ಆಗುವಳು ನುಡಿದರು ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನು ||

ಅರಳೊ ಮುನ್ನವೆ ಕಮರೋ ಹೂವುಗಳದೆಷ್ಟೋ

ಕೆಂಪು ದೀಪದಡಿ ಇರುವ ಬಾಳ್ವೆಗಳದೆಷ್ಟೋ

ಕಾಣುವುದೆ ಕತ್ತಲಲಿ ಮುನ್ನ ದಸೋ ಬೆಳಕು

ಹೊರ ಬರಲು ಇದೆಯೇನು ಹೊಸತೊಂದು ಬದುಕು ??
