வட்டியும் அசலும்

வாழும் வாழ்கையை கடனாக கொடுத்தவளே

கொண்ட காதலை அசலாய், வட்டியென அதன் வெளிப்பாடும் வைத்து

இங்கே கடனைத் தீர்க்க வாழ்கிறேன் கண்ணே

வங்கிக்கடனின் வழக்கம் போல் இங்கும்

வட்டி மட்டும் ஆதிக்கம் செலுத்தும் ஆரம்பத்தில்

அசலோ கூடிசெல்லும் காலம் செல்லும் நேரத்திலே

வட்டி குறைவதினால் வாழ்வு வெறுக்கவில்லை பாங்கி

கொண்ட காதல் உணர்த்தும் வாழ்க்கை வேண்டுகிறேன் ஏங்கி.

English Translation: - Interest and Principal

I have indebted my life from you,

The love I have for you as the Principal in the loan

and

The way I express it towards you is the Interest component,

I live my life not to clear the debt,

As the bank follows an EMI practise,

So is my interest increases initially,

lately the Principal increases too,

But as time passes,

The interest slowly decreases,

Not knowing the reason why,

I always long for a life where

I can express my loads of Love in this Life.
