হঠাৎ বৃষ্টি

চা খেতে গিয়ে

পড়েছি বিপাকে

নামলো বৃষ্টি জোরে

আকাশ দেখে যায়নি বুঝা

আসবে এমন করে।

ঘর থেকে যারা বেরিয়ে ছিল

নেয়-নি হাতে ছাতা।

হঠাৎ বৃষ্টি থামিয়ে দিল , ঘুরিয়ে দিল মাথা。

যে যেখানে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিল

গুজলো সেখানে মাথা।

আশ্রয় নিল পাশের উপরে

ছিলো না হাতে ছাতা।

আমরা যারা গিয়েছিলাম

দোকানটি ছিল ছোটো

ফুটো টিন দিয়ে পড়ছিল জল,

পাশ থেকে ছিল ঝাপটা।

হঠাৎ বৃষ্টি থামিয়ে দিল, মানুষ জনের যাত্রা ।

রাস্তার দিকে তাকিয়ে দেখি

বইছে এমন ঢেউ

হঠাৎ দেখি রাস্তা নদী, জল করে কল কল।

জলস্রোতে যাচ্ছে ভেসে

যতো আবর্জনার দল ।

গর্তে পড়ে হোঁচট খাচ্ছে

যান বাহনের দল।

রাস্তার জল ছিটকে পড়ছে , উছলে উঠছে মন।

হঠাৎ বৃষ্টি ভাসিয়ে দিল, রাস্তা ভর্তি জল।

যে রাখাল গিয়েছে গোরু নিয়ে

সে এখন ও ফেরেনি ঘরে,

গাভীরা সব ভিজছে জলে

বৃষ্টি দিল এলোমেলো করে ,

ডাকছে গাভী হাম্বা স্বরে

শাবক বুঝি মা-কে খুঁজে ।

রাখাল ছেলে তাদের শামলে নিয়ে

দিনের শেষে ফিরছে ঘরে ।

হঠাৎ বৃষ্টি, হঠাৎ করে নামলে পড়ে

জন-জীবন পায়না তাদের কাজের দিশা।
