जन्म लिया तो नाम लमि गया, नाम केसाथ एक पहचान। घर नेबताया…“कौन हो तुम?” दनुनया नेदेददया ज्ञान।

ककसी नेकहा…मंददर जाना, ककसी नेकहा…,गुरुद्वारे। ककसी नेमाथा धममको टेका, ककसी नेपकु ारेऔर ककनारे।

जो धममलमिा जन्म केसाथ, उसेही सच मान बैठे।

दसू रेकेसच को झूठ कहकर, अपनेदरवाजेबंद कर बैठे।

जात, कुि और रस्मेंओढ़कर, मन पर मुहरेंिगा िीं।

मााँ-बाप, समाज और ककताबों ने, सोच की सीमाएाँबना दीं।

ककसी नेलसखाया…“येअच्छा है,” ककसी नेकहा..,“वो बुरा।” ककसी नेपापों का डर ददखाया,

ककसी नेस्वगमका रास्ता ददखाया।

किर माया का पपंजरा आया… धन, दौित और मान।

ककसी नेकहा….“बडा बनना,” ककसी ने…“रखना इज़्जजत-शान।”

ररश्ते, ख़्वादहशें, डर और उम्मीदें, एक-एक तार बने।

उम्र गुजरती गई पपंजरेमें, और हम समझे..,आजाद बने।

कभी ररवाजों नेबााँधा,

कभी िोगों की बात।

कभी “िोग क्या कहेंगे” ने, उम्र भर पकडेरखेहमारेहाथ।

अपना चेहरा ढूाँढ़ते-ढूाँढ़ते,

दसू रों केचेहरेपहन लिए। अपनी आवाज सुनना भूि गए, जो सनु ा-उसी को सच कह ददए।

अंत समय जब सााँस रुकी,

न नाम गया, न धमम।

न जात, न माया साथ गई,

न मान गया, न अहंकार।

जजसे“मेरा” कहतेरहे,

सब यहींपीछेरह गया।

जजस “मैं” को सारी उम्र साँभािा, वो भी सााँस केसाथ बह गया।

बुल्लल्लया, पपंजरा बाहर कहााँथा? तूभीतर ही बंद रहा।

जजसेदनुनया ने“तू” कहकर बताया, सारी उम्र तूवही बनता रहा।

एक ददन अगर परदा हट जाए, न “मैं” रहे, न“तू”,

तब राज खुिेइस पपंजरेका, कौन कै दी था, कौन था रूह…

जजसेढूाँढ़ता रहा बाहर-बाहर, वो तेरेभीतर ही था मौजदू,

पपंजरा भी तू, कै दी भी तू,

और जजसको ढूाँढ़ रहा था…

वो भी तू।
