"परदेसी"
न तो इस ओर का,
न ही उस ओर का।
ज़मीं और आसमां के दरमियां,
उड़ती पतंग की उलझी डोर सा।।
रहा उम्र भर सफर में मुसाफ़िर,
कहां हुआ हासिल, लम्हा ठौर का।
शामें हो गईं बूढ़ी, उसे वापस ले आने में,
वो निकला हुआ है घर से, बचकानी भोर का।
थिरके जब भी पैर, सोहरत हुई हासिल,
और उसी पैर से था, बैर मोर का।
देस और परदेस से हुआ वो इस कदर रुखसत,
जैसे दोनों ही जगह, घर था किसी और का।
किसी गाथा में उसकी व्यथा का, ज़िक्र तक मिलता नहीं,
वो मूक नायक बनकर ही रहा, हर दौर का।
शायद उसके इरादों से, बने होंगे शहर,
पिंजर तो उसका बड़ा कमजोर था।
वो महफ़िलों में अक्सर गाता रहा तराने,
जबकि जेहन में उसके गूंजता शोर था।
पतंग जो दिखती थी,शहरी आसमान में,
गांव की माटी में था धंसा, एक छोर उस डोर का।
कभी गरीबी की कसक,
कभी धर्म-जात की ठसक।
कभी जीने की जद्दोजहद,
कभी दमन घनघोर सा।।
न तो इस ओर का,
न ही उस ओर का।
ज़मीं और आसमां के दरमियां,
उड़ती पतंग की उलझी डोर सा।।
