“तीसरा कोना”

एक कहता है… ये धुआँ जो है

इसका मिज़ाज सही नहीं।

किस तरह ये छुपा रहता है-

देखो, मेरी आँखों में कलेश कर

ये अपनी दिशाएँ

बदलता रहता है।

दूसरे ने

ये बात काटी

और कहने लगा-

ये धुआँ-धुआँ-सा चलन देखो,

ये धुआँ-धुआँ-सी प्रीत देखो,

धुएँ में नाकाबंदी देखो,

धूप में ये जप देखो-

देखो, देखो,

धुएँ में क्रियाओं का भंडार देखो!

ये चर्चा

इसी तरह

लंबे समय तक

जारी रही…

एक ने दो बात कही,

तो दूसरे ने तीन।

कुछ वक़्त बीतने के बाद-

दोनों

कमरे का एक-एक कोना पकड़कर,

अपनी आँखें मूँदे,

सर दीवार से टिकाकर

लेट गए।

फिर तीसरा शख़्स,

जो पहले वहाँ मौजूद नहीं था,

कमरे में आया

और दो अगरबत्ती जलाकर

उन्हीं की ही भाँति

कमरे का तीसरा कोना पकड़कर

बैठ गया।

कुछ देर वो शांत रहा,

मगर फिर उसने भी कहा-

ये धुएँ में सुगंध देखो,

धुएँ में ये सन्नाटा देखो-

देखो, देखो,

धुएँ में

मेरी, तुम्हारी, सबकी

ये नींद देखो!
