The morning started with a simple plan, To march for freedom, hand in hand. No heavy bags, just signs we made, Walking together, not afraid.

We wanted to learn in our own tongue, A simple right for the very young.

But then these outs and sirens cried, And suddenly there was nowhere left to hide.

The smoke was thick, the bricks were thrown, Kids our age were all alone.

Running through alleys, hearing the sound, Of boots and stones upon the ground.

They had the weapons, we had our voice, Fighting because we had no choice. We lost our friends on that terrible day, But their bravery will never fade away.
