You're Just A Face

You’re just a face.

I barely know you. You don’t know me.

We could be close. I could be your neighbour in a big city. We can exchange formalities and I’d be content just hearing your voice.

You’re just a face.

You’re the smile that floats in the air long after people have left the party.

You’re the walk in the park after a long day, the walk that never tires.

You’re the cloud that lingers long after the music has stopped and the credits roll.

You’re just a phase.

You aren’t the only one to have your picture taken in my house.

You are the skin and bone that all the others are made of.

You are the perfect timing it takes for something special to happen. That everyone talks about.

You’re just a face.

You’re just one word away from finishing my sentences.

You’re just one drive away from moving in with me.

You’re just one heartbeat away from falling for me.

You’re not just a face.
