You’ll move on

You shoot me a smile,

Your thumb gently brushes the back of my hand,

We go on a sunset walk for a mile,

We stop and draw our initials in the sand,

You make me feel so high,

I hope one day we can live here without a care or two,

Cause while your gaze sits on the night sky,

My gaze, it sits on you,

Then my eyes, they snap back to reality,

I remember how much you hurt me and why I hate you the way I do,

Some days I wish what my mind dreams wasn’t just a fantasy,

Then maybe it wouldn’t all have gone to waste, the hope I had for you.
