You Changed

Have you felt it yet?

I hope that you have

I hope

That you realise

How much you've changed

Knowingly or unknowingly

You've learnt to be free

You smile when you mean it and not just to please

You cry when you're overwhelmed and accept your defeat

You laugh, out loud, without any care of judgement

And you hug to express your love..

Oh you've changed from that sad little crushed being

Who was too busy pleasing those

Whose approval now means zilch..

You've changed, you look different

You feel different

And you know you'll never be the same

You know how much you've fought yourself, more than anyone else

To change

Because you know

That the past you wasn’t really you

That the past you was quite weak

That the past you was built from a mould which was not your fit

And so you changed,

To finally be your true self

Whoever that might be

You changed, and so you see everything differently

You changed, and at last, you are you.
