You Are A Girl
By Chandana Chowdary
The stanza of 10 letters
Burned all the desires of life that glitter,
Everything on us is seen through a filter
One single censure is enough to shatter.
From the way we sit to how we walk everything matter.
Always raised to be smoother
And gulp down the anger
carrying the standard figure and being backwater
we forget the difference between us and litter.
Still, with those bite scars we climb the ladders
Being the best performers.
Bro, We are better than the squanderers.
Yes! Im a girl. Yes! we are girls.
running round the clock
Finishing the tasks
Cleaning the cloaks
We are expected to have eye spark
Whereas a peaceful sleep is all we ask.
Afterall still stuck in the public mock
Where we are demanded not to talk
To uphold the illusionary locks
And we all know how this work.
Yes! I’m a girl. yes! we are girls
Who asked for your constant conformation
About our identification
Where all we need is emancipation
And a secured nation
With little determination
To protect the mothers of next generation.
Yes! I’m a girl. Yes! We are girls.
So, what now? we are here
With all the fear
Dripping the drops of tear on societal swear
Competing for the best gear
But not waiting for the ideal bear
No offence! Just making it clear.
however, support is always so mere
but who cares when confidence is our new cheer
And freedom? C’mon dear!
You live in the celestial sphere.
