Yathra – (Journey)

As I sit here on the train

All I can hear are the rhythmic movements of the wheels

It's as though a bunch of men are pulling up the load while chanting hymns of their own land

I hear these voices and then they all harmonize

Telling one another their own stories

For every soul has a story to tell.

Holding their beats together, they lie silently

On their own piece of land for the night

With flashlights on their phones illuminating their faces

Each pretending to be someone else for a moment

Hoping to escape reality

Nobody here knows anybody

Even so, we still trust each other with each breath we take

As we travel a distance nobody sees for miles and miles

Every station has someone leaving and someone coming in

Equally, we celebrated it in silence.

As time passes, everyone must leave the train

With the hope of meeting and traveling again

As though the train waits for no men

It will continue with or without you

So, enjoy that cup of coffee and live in the moment

And smile because whatever happens life will go on
