Would You Like To Walk With Me?
By Navneet Yadav
Would you like to walk with me?
My loneliness is not the reason.
Those beautiful eyes are unfathomable,
I would not mind falling into that prison.
Would you like to walk with me?
I have been to cliffs and seas.
I cannot forget the forget the strolls through the burning desert,
And the floral farms buzzing with bees.
The people and places I have witnessed,
Their faces still live in my eyes.
My vocabulary fails to translate their smiles,
And behind those are hidden the million cries.
I wish you could see the world through my eyes,
I would tell you the fables of mystics.
The moon dances and the with suns, it romances,
The palate is much more than the pigmented antics.
The way wind takes a pause,
Swirls around and presses against my hair .
If you join me in this walk,
I could take you to the mystical lair.
The day vanishes with an snap,
The evening sun comes bearing gifts.
I wonder if you too imagine like me,
Thinking about bridging the rifts.
The fireflies surround me,
They come and sit in my skin.
If you accompany me in this walk,
To you, they might grow akin.
I have seen the cliffs kissing the clouds,
And the shores hugging the oceans.
I have almost fallen from the edge,
And waves have sucked me back with their motions.
If you walk with me,
I will whisper my secrets in your ears.
I will look into your eyes and hold your hands,
As I spew my source of happiness and fears.
Would you like to walk with me,
You're the company I've been craving for.
Read in the books and heard from the poets,
You're passed from one life to the next like a lore.
