i cry,

because of people like you.

i cry because people like you,

hurt me.

and my mother holds me,

she serenades me.

she comforts me.

she assures me.

she reminds me of my worth.

for my worth,




is much more than a single drop of tear,

sliding its way down my cheek.

it’s much more than the sobs,

that wreck through me.

it’s much more than my thoughts going hazy,

and thinking if all my friends hate me.

my worth,

is much more than what i’m aware of.

for you cannot impair me.

and this time i cry,

because my mother holds me.

this time i cry,

because my worth,

she deems untold.
