Working Class Blues

Delayed, swiped and punched the alarm back to Snooze; Then I'm up, yet I still doze

And that's how I renounced my fancy dreams; Confined within its realms.

For they keep reminding me to pay the bills; Surely, 'there ain't no exceptions on Mondays'.

Minions of Dictator's democracy, we March, Gagged and enslaved by masters at large.

So I did the 'rebel yell',

And declared not to yield!

But the system recycled me back to zero,

So much for being an Underclass hero.

Oh hope! Words boomed, ‘change has come'; But when I finally got there, it was long gone! Aahhh! I stood long in queue;

It must be the 'status quo',

This got me on the lookout for an exit,

Oh Well! I am just trying to exist.

I resolved not to Oil & toil till I break and rust, For I got a free soul and to 'live' I Tryst.

Working Nine to five can't buy class,

So take five, breath, brake and clutch.

Phew! Do I got bills to pay? 'Mon dieu!',

But I own this free verse to crank me up any Monday.
