Work, make money -

You aren’t succeeding in life if you aren’t making any

Is the family supporting you, or are you supporting the family

Why did the world seem calmer and more controlled back then - what is this anomaly

Want to live a rich life, but at what pace -

Is it necessary to partake in this toxic rat race

More money is more happiness, they said

But no one warned about the middle-class salary dread

Responsibilities pile up, like waiting laundry

Trying to manoeuvre through it all, albeit awkwardly

When did the kid become a parent, and the parent became a kid

Hair becoming grey prematurely, waiting for the quid

Where do we belong, the poor or the rich

Trying to get out, or digging yourself more in the ditch

Rarely, during the bonus period, do you find yourself staring at the oasis

Once that is run dry, you find yourself back in the middle of the crisis

Wanting to be grateful for being better than the less fortunate

Who would have thought that is exactly what would make you an importunate

Is that a good or a bad thing - no one knows

Right! Have to get back - sorry to impose.
