Wondered

Have you ever wondered,

Why outer beauty over time becomes withered.

I mean; have you thought of all the countless products.

Those products that make your life perfect.

That mask and plastic smile,

telling the world it's terrific...

But you are hollow inside.

You're alarm is perked up, ready, at your bedside.

To start your beauty routine,

feeling empty and, oh, so guilty.

Because when you look in the mirror,

do you look at yourself in terror?

Or are you looking in the mirror trying to remember,

Where's your inner shimmer.

Don't you see,

that outer beauty is all that's seen.

World, don't see the need,

to look at your soul.

He'd rather look at your body for a foul.

Dear one,

if you don't love yourself,

you won't die of age,

you'd die of burning that inner page.
