Woman Washing For A New Dawn

I'm a worn out washing machine

On my last cycle of spin

The machine of life I'm in

My bearings making a creaking sound

My days of washing clothes are done

My time of usefulness is done

My body's in a constant spin

But instead of clothes, I'm washing a life within

My buttons, worn and cracked

My agitator all but gone

My parts are starting to lack

The days of laundry are long gone

My motor is ready to give in

My drum is ready to break

The life I'm carrying within

Is slowly starting to take shape

My tub is full of hope and dreams

My cycle of life spinning on

Still I'm a worn out machine

But I'm washing a life for a new dawn
