Woman Of The House

She bore three kids.

She brought them up.

She made the food,

She cleaned the rugs.

She organized the kitchen,

The cabinets and the drawers,

She got a job,

To support a side income,

Not the main, of course.

She woke up at 5,

Packed tiffins,

Broomed and bathe,

She prayed,

To all the all mighties,

Yet her fate,

Led her to be a maid.

The bhaiyas she made deals with,

The didis who'd cut her pay,

The in laws who wanted a better bahu,

Everyone always had too much to say.
