Without you

The sunset no longer stills my pain

nor makes me feel the day is gained

The gulls no longer rock a lullaby

but lull instead my aching cries

The tide no longer bathes me

but spills forth every voice and memory

of all that cannot save me

Tick Tock

with every dock

oh, anchorage be near

no future yet seems clear

I’m living my greatest fear

oh, dear God please be near

Whitewashed on this benched horizon

‘You’ have me lay

And somehow also stay

stranded
