Winters Used To Come

Winters used to come

with delectation and jollity, gatherings ,laughters and noise

over the carrom boards.

Not the heat from the 'Kangris'

but the warmth of the hearts

would warm up the room with peace with peace

and love filled the air.

With you it changed to a whole new world ,

as long evenings would continue

with unending conversations over tea

when long sips with twinkling smiles ,

laughters with redness on cheeks

would fill the heart with tranquility,

and light up the room with silver lining.

Vapours from tea,

would rise slowly, vanishing,

in the fragrance of the room ,

fingers going over the lip of the cup

and mind to countless memorable moments ,

with every beautiful memory being cherished. Criss-crossing of fingers sometimes

and sometimes cuffing of face

and sometimes radiance from

every inch of your appearance

would add only to love

and belongingness.

But now ,it's different,utterly different.

Winter is now quiet but not calm ,

silent but not soothing ,

as silence is eating up my every word!

No more talks no more noises,

no smiles and no laughters.

Appearances have remained the same,

but things have changed!

And winter remains silent,

unconditionally!
