Winter

By Ayana Fotedar

As the summer passed by, spring lost its glory. As the winter gales chilled the bones of all to ice, darkness loomed over the Earth. Winter did not stop, it never did, making even the sun bow down in front of him. The rivers froze and even the trees lost their glory. Winter played with the Earth till it finally relented and let the feeble rays of the sun pass through its fogged paths. It retreated into the shadows, loved by none, for the sacrifice it made was great yet silent, just like its protest. It let the sun shine brightly and take all the glory and love, but winter came back. Full and bright showing all its protest only to retreat again. But like all determined minds it will come again, more powerful and it won't stop until it reaches its goal. Eternal darkness.
