Winds And Tides
By Aaditya Menon
Mortals do not comprehend the concepts of time and destiny.
Wise minds know of it, but succumb and fail to quantify
While mere mortals do not wish to acknowledge something so incredible
Their feeble minds allured by their materialistic wants, so unfathomable.
And then, in the midst of this cosmic confusion, will always find
Two souls, inexorably drawn, not by their machinations, mind
You, but by the invisible strings of destiny, as foreordained
With scant regard for the tides of time, with its flow and ebb.
It is believed that miracles are born out of the wanton scattering of goodness,
In turn nourishing and reinforcing wild ardour, with outcomes so wondrous.
That you and I, find ourselves here, in this very moment, soul searching
For the one fragment that fills a void, like a piece of the puzzle missing
Is not serendipity, but a foregone conclusion that it is not chance,
From the humble beginnings in the most uncanniest of circumstance.
Perhaps, not speaking for both, but the soul within swells with realization
That, being in close proximity of you – body, mind and soul, is an addiction;
Insatiable and thirsting for more in the fond hope that a dash of attention,
Akin to all the good things in the world, wrapped in a bundle of affection,
Is all that is needed to forget the disarray and shambles, and be the sunshine,
That warms the soul to the endless possibilities of love – to me, a sign.
To you, my dearest one, I wish to see you saunter in gleeful bliss,
Long to see that lazy smile play across your lips,
Those expressive eyes that one could find themselves lost in,
Will forever be the place I would love to call home, on my whim
