Will You Know It, When You Feel It??

By Vedashree B N

Maybe, the most sought thing after love is happiness.

It's either that or we just are utterly clueless.

We often think we need to keep digging to reach, keep flying to touch, keep swimming to hold, keep talking to be understood. But exceptions exist, and life happens there.

It might be the subtleness of life that we sometimes overlook.

The subtle voices in words, the subtle pain in fights, the subtle sweetness in loss.

The subtle life passes you by while you're busy living it with rigour.

We seek for it. With open eyes and empty benches in heart, waiting to sit with someone.

We forget. We forget someone's waiting for us too. You know how hope is a firefly?

Why so?

Because we're too shaky with thoughts and opinions and fears and judgements to let the firefly sit peacefully.

It glimmers because it can't shine.

It flies and flies and the next time you see it, will you stay still?

Too much wavering for the feelings to stretch arms.

The next time.

When you feel it, will you know it?
