Why love anything at all?

Open up to your love

and let my guarded heart unfold

Laugh until the morning comes

while your gentle hands turn cold

Give in to every feeling

and hand to you control

Stand defenseless in your light

while your dagger finds my soul

Dance beneath your promises

and trust each word you say

Build a home inside your arms

while you slowly walk away

Hold the ghost of what we were

and trace the fault in every action

Learn that every love can fade

and every full heart can turn barren

So why should I chase heaven

If the end leads to my fall

Why give my heart to anyon

Why love anything at all
