Why do I like the ocean so much - NPDSR (A poem about temptation)

Why do I like the ocean so much

when I am afraid of it

The smell of it refreshes me

But if the wind blew strong enough

It’s waves could Block

my nose

from the air of life

Why do I like the ocean so much

When it is filled with the unknown

It’s depth is so enticing

But there are monsters underneath

Waiting to devour me

With their glowing eyes

Which hide the ugliness of

Their souls

Hiding in a surface so clear

so wide,

so deep

that what is underneath needs to come

up for it to be seen

Why do I love the ocean so much

When it’s filled with so much water

That dehydrates me

I know the dangers of the ocean

But I still want to swim in it

Brush my fingers against

the surface of the water

Close to danger

But so close to solving

its divine mystery

Why do i want the ocean so much

When He who knows the ocean says

the mysteries of the ocean

are not meant to be solved.
