Who are you?

Do you know?

Do you care?

Then why not share?

Do you know your grandparents?

Have you heard their stories?

Have you learnt from the past?

Then make their legacy last.

Have you met a Zulu?

Have you seen their shortened spears?

Did you show respect?

Then your morals are perfect.

Have you met a Ndebele?

Have you seen their coloured clothes?

Did you look into their eyes?

Then you know where the soul flies.

Have you ever greeted a Boer?

Have you felt their sturdy grip?

Did you walk a mile in their shoes?

Then you have tasted labour's produce.

Now look upon these people

of time long past.

Think of what they would say

if they saw the world today.

Think of your heritage.

All those who came before.

They did not die

so you could feed garbage to the sky.

For what goes up

must come down

and without a sound

you insult the ground.

This country is an ancestral gift.

Paid and wrapped.

Yet you spit I their face.

What a disgrace.
