Who Am I?

Updated: Jul 5, 2025

A question we are all bound to face someday in our lives. Who really are we? The answer tends to change quite often, for we all are just edited versions of the book of our lives.

When I started pondering upon the question, I immediately thought of my name, my nature and my hobbies. So let's start from scratch.

I am Saisha. A 15 year old teen trying to survive the “GenZ”.

A student who carries a passion for writing and learning.

A girl who was termed as a "chatterbox" in her childhood due to her talkative nature. I believe I have always been an expressive child. So, if you ask about my hobbies, I would probably say that dancing has to be my favorite one. Writing is another hobby of mine and probably my mind's personal favourite way to unravel. I convey my beliefs and ideology through my writing. My poetry is my best friend.

Now, that's the normal introduction I tend to give when I'm asked about myself. But who really am I? What makes me, ME?

You must be thinking, why am I talking about myself?

Well, in the last fifteen years of my life the most messy yet beautiful piece I’ve managed to write is the person I am

As long as I can probably remember, my mom and dad have always taught me to respect the simple things in life.

A simple thankyou, a simple apology, a simple compliment makes all the difference in the world.

So,

When I appreciate the small things in life like

A new morning with a fresh start,

A roof upon our heads,

Another night to mend our broken hearts,

And a life to fulfill our past debts.

When I turn a tear into a smile,

When I help someone in need,

When I fix a fragile heart not mine,

That's when I know I'm me.

There have been many rains. There have been storms too. But the weather changes, and the rainbows reveal their color box too.

So who am I?

Well, I am the lesson of my mistakes. I am the choices I make.

I am my strengths. I am my weaknesses.

I am my abilities. I am my interests.

I am what my parents teach me. I am what my traumas make me.

I am what my poems speak. I am the smiles I repeat.

I am what my dance seeks. I am the tears I bleed.

I am the origin of the storms that await me. I am my past from which I break free.

I am a girl of simplicity.

I am me.
